BIG REDUCTION
U.S. TROOPS IN GERMANY (Rec. 10 a.m.) Berlin, August 30. General Eisenhower announced that American troops in Germany were being reduced from 2,500,000 to 400.000 before the end of the winter. He declined to predict the length of occupation. but said the Americans were not expected to stay long.
