WAR CRIMINALS
FIRST LIST DRAWN UP WORK OF CHIEF ALLIED PROSECUTORS TRIALS EXPECTED TO START IN OCTOBER (Kec. 10.40 a.m.) London, Aug. 29 if is officially announced that the committee of chief British, American. Russian and French prosecutors for the investigation of the prosecution of major war criminals has drawn up the first list of war criminals to be tried before the international military tribunal.
Tl-p list includes Goering. Hess, Ribbentrop. Ley, Rosenberg, Frank. Kalterbrunner, Frick, Streicher, Keitel, Funk, Schacht, Frupp. von Bohlen, Reeder, Doenitz, von Schirach, Saukel, Speer, Bormann, von Papen, Jodi, von Surath, Seyss Inquart and Fritsche. Inve-! gations are going forward on cases of other war criminals who are not included in the list. The Press Association says it is generally expected that the trials will begin in Nuremberg early in October. HESS’S FORMER ADJUTANT ARRESTED (Rec. 10.30 a.m.) Vienna, Aug. 29 The American Army has arrested Herbert Stenger, who was adjutant to Hess before he went to England in 1941.
