NELSON SINGER AT WELLINGTON COMPETITIONS
Miss Patricia Barry, of Nelson, daughter of Mr and Mrs E. D. Barry, has competed with success at the Wellington Competitions Society’s 1945 ■festival. In the mezzo-soprano test solo Miss Barry, who gained 83 points, was placed second out of 20 competitors, and in the class for women’s vocal solo by a New Zealand composer Miss Barry gained second place equal. In this class she was awarded 86 points, and there were 36 competitors.
