DESTROYERS CONGRATULATED
ADDRESS BY ADMIRAL FRASER Rugby, June 24. Admiral Fraser. C-in-C the British Pacific Fleet addressing men of the Fleet’s at an Australian port recently, said: “The war in this area is now going faster than anyone thought but there is nard work ahead. I have in rr.y fleet now all the Commonwealth of Nations represented and with the turmoil of elections at home I hope in all these countries the people will not forget that we arc trying to fight a war out here.” Admiral Fraser paid a tribute to the Americans and said they were doing the toughest fighting just now. Praising the work of the destroyers’ personnel he added: “Only the other day out here destroyers scored the first important British success with five destroyers sinking a Japanese cruiser, so that at the Singapore end the British Fleet has practically finished off the Japarfbse force.”
