SEA MINES LAID BY ALLIES

During the European war the Royal Navy, Dominion Navies and Allied Navies operating with the Royal Navy, laid 206,969 British sea mines in all theatres of war, says the Admiralty. In addition, extensive min**laying was done by the R.A.F. and Allied aircraft, making the combined total of sea mines laid by all forces 260,521. This number exceeded by 23.637 the combined total of mines laid in 1914-18 by forces of the British Empire, Allies and Germany.
