TAKAKA TOWN BOARD
INCREASE IN GENERAL RATE A general rate of one penny .in the pound on the capital value—an increase of id in the pound over the previous year—was struck by <the Takaka Town Board at its monthly meeting The sanitary rate remained as formerly at 40s a year. Those present at the meeting were Messrs N. Bensemann (chairman), L. C. McKinnon, K. Page. E. A. Polglase and M. Chapman. A resident complained about wandering stock in the township. It was decided to interview the offender concerned and ask that suitable steps be taken to prevent a recurrence. The secretary, Takaka W.D.F.U. L asked for a donation towards the upkeep of the public Rest Room. It was decided to make a donation of £5.
