PROFESSIONAL BOXING
Wellington, This Day. With a decided advantage in height and reach, Young Jim Griffin outpointed Tommy Hanson in a professional welterweight contest staged by the Wellington Boxing Association last night. Hanson did most of the leading, but Griffin did affective counter-punching as his opponent kept boring in. Both men showed bright footwork, and some clever ducking and head-weaving, with the result that scarcely a heavily-loaded blow was delivered. Hanson scaled 10.2, and Griffin was 21b lighter.
