PETAIN CLAIMS SECRET TREATY PARIS, June B.—Marshal Petain, appearing before an examining commission of the French High Court, declared : “The French fleet was scuttled 4at Toulon in 1942 under a secret treaty which 1 negotiated with Mr Churchill. ARREST OF POLISH EDITOR LONDON, June B.—British plainclothes police visited the Fleet Street office of Polpress K which, is the Polish news agency representing the Lublin Government, and arrested the editor, Dr. J. Jagodzinski. He was handed over to the Polish military police on a charge of desertion. The arrest took place without the knowledge of the Foreign Office or even the Home Office and is now under urgent attention from the -proper authorities, says the Press Association’s diplomatic correspondent.
