RICHMOND SHOWGROUNDS CAMP CONSOLIDATION OF ARMY ESTABLISHMENTS The number of Army establishments in Nelson s being steadily reduced and it is expected that by August all Army depots and camps in the district will have been consolidated and there will remain only the Army Office in Harley street and the new stores section at the corner of Hardy and Rutherford streets. The showgrounds camp at Richmond will be vacated by the middle of next month and it will be handed back to the Nelson Agricultural and Pastoral Association as soon as Army buildings have been removed and the grounds returned to their original order. The battery camp on the Port hills will also be closing down shortly and the Q.M. store in Cock and Co’s, building will be removed to the new stores block in Rutherford street.
