DEFAULTERS ON PAROLE
•M Allegations tnat oe nan seen a party of 12 military defaulters leave the train on parole at Wellington carrying nrmy kitbags and valises were made by Mr. W. A. Mclntyre at the annual meeting of the Hastings R.S.A. tonight. The question of defaulters was discussed, and a resolution was adopted urging that R.S.A. efforts should not be relaxed in the control of defaulters. "It appears to me that the R.S.A. executive is lacking in respect of the defaulter’s question,” said Mr. Mclntyre. "These defaulters are getting out on parole and they can w)iispe r filings all over the country.” He added that people seeing the defaulters on parole walking about the streets with military equipment would think they were returned soldiers. The R.S.A. should demand to be told what the government intended to do about the defaulters.
