FORMER BISHOP OF WAIAPU

APPOINTMENT IN BRITAIN London, April 6. The Rt. Rev. G. V. Gerard. Bishop of Waiapu for five years until last year has accepted an offer from the Bishop of Sheffield of the vicarage at Rotherham, Yorkshire. He was senior chaplain to 4 he New Zealand forces from the outbreak of war until he was captured in North Africa at the end of 1942. He resigned from his diocese after being repatriated, in order to take the chaplaincy to the forces in the South Pacific. He hopes to go to Rotherham in July after visiting the New Zealand forces in Italy.
