PORT CYCLE TRACK

ITo the Editor] Sir.—l understand the City Council has decided to leave the cycle track alone during the duration of the war. May I suggest one remedy: make it a one way cycle track, thereby cutting out all danger of a very serious accident. I think it is a breach of the law, for a cyclist to cross the road from his correct side to get on to the track at the Saltwater bridge end. In case of accident he has no one to blame but himself, and no cause of action. I would also like to point out if a cyclist going to the port, on the track, is forced over the white line, he is open to prosecution for driving a vehicle on the wrong side of the road. It is a very dangerous track for cyclists going to the port. —I am, etc., CYCLIST. Nelson, April 4.
