But the bogus heiress complicates things for herself by not being too certain whether her heart belongs to the rich sugar-daddy or to the poor but handsome singer (Dick Powell). Eddie Bracken is round about most of the time, and he and Powell give "Happy Go Lucky” some comedy that might have been taken right out of the Hope-Crosby book. GRAMOPHONE CLUB IN NELSON It is proposed to form a gramophone club in Nelson. The inaugural meeting will take place next Wednesday evening at 7.30 in Toe H rooms. The movement is an outcome of the lectures recently conducted by Mr R. A. Lilly. At the conclusion of his series of lectures the large number of music lovers who had attended decided to form a permanent club for the enjoyment and appreciation of recorded music. It is hoped that all who have a liking for music, will give the club their support by becoming members. The club will provide all the necessary equipment such as a gramophone and a plentiful supply of records. For the time being records for performar.:cs will be made available by members out of their private collections. The subscription will be remarkably low probably a small charge per member for each recital. Performances of recorded music will take place once every fortnight, and a commentator wil supply annotations to the various works presented. The first musical session will be held next Wednesday, after the inaugural meeting for the election of officers, etc., has concluded.
