TAKAKA PLUNKET SOCIETY’S BALL

There was a good attendance at the Takaka Plunket Society’s annual ball held in .the Odd Fellows’ Hall. Takaka, and the funds benefited considerably. ’ The hall was decorated with arum lilies and greenery and on the stage was # a life-size stork carryihg a “plunket baby.” Mr A. Hoare carried out the duties of M.C. and Reynish’s De Luxe Orchestra provided bright music. Novelty dances, which added interest to the evening, were won by Mr and Mrs G. Petterson; Mr G. Phillips and Mrs E. Baker; Mr J. Sixtus and Miss A. Baigent, and Miss J. Bensemann and partner. Mr Hoare, on behalf of the Takaka branch of the Plunket Society, thanked all who had helped. Supper was served by the local Plunket committee under the direction of the president, Mrs A Rose.
