You needed protection— and you got it. But you can't have it both ways. The money is being spent —in paying, equipping, feeding the Fighting Forces. This can’t be got out of thin air. Is the money available? Yes, of course. Because £137,000,000 is lying in the Trading Banks and £104,000,000 in the Savings Banks. War Taxation brings in about half the war’s cost. The other half must come from the Victory Loan —Loon, mind you, at a good rate of interest. 30,000 people have to put in an average of £SOO each to fill the Loan by WEDNESDAY NEXT WEEK. This is a duty. It must not be evaded. WE DARE NOT FAIL
