WEDDING

HAASE—HUFTON A pretty wedding was solemnised at St. James’s Church, Lower Hutt, when Leslie, daughter of Mr and Mrs George Hutton, Arild street, Lower Hutt, was married to Flying Officer Gilbert Mackay Haase, son of Mr and Mrs W. Haase, of Takaka. The officiating minister was the Rev. H. C. Arnold, and Mrs Dunkley presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a creafn satin dress with train and embroidered yoke and waistband. Her cream embroidered veil was held in place by a spray of cyclamen and her bouquet was of white cyclamen and roses. The bridesmaids, Miss Joan Marr, of .Westport, and Miss Phoebe Douglas, of Motueka. wore dresses of cream georgette made in Victorian style. Their bouquets were of red cyclamen, roses and berries and they wore coronets composed of similar flowers. The best man was Flying Officer Ralph Clayton, of New Plymouth, and Pilot Officer W. G. Taylor, of Wellington, was groomsman. About 100 guests were afterwards entertained at the R.S.A. Hall, where they were received by the bride’s mother wearing a suit of blue wool georgette with black accessories and shoulder spray of salmon pink roses. The bridegroom’s mother wore a navy ensemble with a shoulder spray of autumn tints. The bride’s travelling costume was saxe blue with black accessories. Flying Officer Haase has seen service in England, North Afriea and Sicily.
