N.Z. SHEEP POPULATION
INCREASE OF ONE MILLION Wellington. This Day. The collection of sheep returns was resumed this year following a break of two years and interim figures supplied by the Government Statistician were announced yesterday by the Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. B. Roberts. These he said, disclosed that since 1941 when tlie last returns were taken, the country's sheep population had increased by considerably over 1.000,000, the principal increase being in the North Island. Details in respect of the various districts are as follows, actual figures for 1941 being shown for comparative purposes:—
