HEAVY POLL On this occasion there was a heavy poll at Motueka. 70 per cent, of the electors recording their votes. The Returning Cfficer, Mr A. L. Kirk, remarked on the surprisingly large number of residents whose names were still not on the roll After the results had been posted, the Mayor. Mr W, J. Eginton. thanked the electors for returning him to office unopposed. He said he had assiduously carried out his duties over the past three years and during that time had not missed a meeting of the Council He was pleased to see that so many of his old colleagues had been re-elected. With the co-operation and goodwill of the councillors he had been able to put into effect his proposed programme as outlined at the previous election. Commenting on the new councillor.
