CONSERVATIVES WIN IN BYELECTION
(Rec. 10.5 a.m.) I* on d°ii, Feb. 4. The Government candidate. Flight Lieutenant W. Teeling, Conservative, won the Brighton by-election with a majority of 1959 votes over the Independent candidate, Mr Dutton Briant. In the last election in 1935 the Conservative candidate polled a majority of 41.437 over the nearest Labour opponent.
