WEDDING

WATT—HAASE At the Nelson Cathedral recently the wedding took place of L.A.C. Roderick Mac Kay, only son of Mr and Mrs R. M. Watt, of Hamilton, to Anita June, only daughter of Mr and Mrs N. Haase, of Nelson. The Very Re v . P. B. Haggitt officiated and A/C P. Stratford presided at the organ.

The bride, who was escorted by her father, looked charming in a slightly trained, bouffant model gown of white stiffened net, over satin, with long full sleeves and side panniers. Her beautiful* embroidered veil, was caught at one side of her head, with a spray of orange blossom and she carried a beautiful shower bouquet in cream tonings, relieved with pink. Miss Elva Woodward was bridesmaid, and Aline Brown, the bride’s cousin, was flower girl. The former wore powder blue georgette and the latter apricot floral crepe. Their shoulder length, apricot veils, fell from a topknot of begonias and they carried shower bouquets in apricot tonings. Sgt. Trevor Home was best man. During the signing of the register. Mr J. Winter sang the solo "Because.” As the bride left the church she was presented with a floral horse-shoe by her small cousin, Carol Winter.

The reception was held at the Ritz, where the guests were received by the bride’s mother, Mrs N. Haase, who wore a frock of peacock blue crepe and navy hat. and carried a posy of pink flowers. She was assisted by the bridegroom’s mother, Mrs R. M. Watt, who was wearing a navy crepe frock and navy and white hat. She carried a posy in autumn tonings. When the bridal couple arrived at the reception they were piped to the table by PipeMajor Mclntosh, who earlier in the af-

! ternoon had piped them from the | church to their car.
