GOLDEN WEDDING
MR AND MRS J. EVES, WAI-ITI Mr and Mrs James Eves of Firgrove, Wai-iti, celebrated their golden wedding on Monday when members of their families and friends gathered at their home to offer their congratulations and good wishes. Several of Mr and Mrs Eves’s brothers and sisters, some of whom had attended the wedding 50 years ago, were able to be present for the occasion. Among these were Mrs Sharp, of Waiiti, Mrs Hislop, Nelson, Mrs V. Holyoake, Riwaka, Messrs W. and M. White, Nelson, Mr J. Eves, Wakefield and Mr C. A. Eves, Wellington. About 35 guests attended the celebrations and partook of the golden wedding breakfast which had been prepared by a daughter-in-law, Mrs N. Eves. The occasion was a very happy reunion, many of the grandchildren being present. Mr and Mrs Eves, who are highly esteemed by a wide circle of friends, were the recipients of several presents, and of many congratulations both personally and by telegram.
