COLONEL BEAMISH SOUTH ISLAND CHAMPION Dunedin, Jan. 12 The. South Island croquet tournament which is nearing completion was continued to-day. In the of the South Island open championship, Colonel Beamish (Christchurch) defeated Mrs Palmer (Christchurch 23-26, 26-14, 26-17. Although i 1 was not spectacular, croauet of s high standard was played. The final of the handicap doubles resulted in a win for Mesdames Grant and Middleton Christchurch) against Mesdames Brown anc Chambers (Christchurch) by 2C points to 16.
