THREE SCHOONERS SUNK
BRITISH DESTROYERS IN ADRIATIC (Rec. 9.35 a.m.) Rugby, Jan. il. British destroyers in the Adriatic sank three schooners and successfully shelled trains and a coastal railway on each side of Cicianova, 23 miles south of Ancona on Friday night, says an Allied communique. They also bombarded Ancona and Cicianova. Shore opposition was ineffective. The following night destroyers in the same area damaged four schooners and left them abandoned. They caused further interference to rail traffic and shelled San Benide. Hits were scored in a railway yard when heavy bombers attacked Skoplje yesterday', says an Allied communique. Military installations at Parina and shipping in the harbour of Velaluca were attacked by night bombers. Nine enemy aircraft were destroyed during the day nd three of ours are missing.
