WORK ON ORCHARDS On 21st February a similar camp will be opened at Ruby Buy where men required for fruit harvesting will be concentrated. The distribution of this labour will be handled through the office of the Fruitgrowers’ Federation in Nelson. • Lieut.-Colonel J. Moore. Area Officer at Nelson, stated to-day that it should be realised by all farmers and fruitgrowers that men are called up as required on anticipated demands for labour and each individual so called has to receive 14 days’ notice of his posting to a camp. It would, therefore, be appreciated by the authorities if employers would place their requirements for labour as early as possible.
