VISITORS TO RABBIT ISLAND
FIRE PRECAUTIONS The possibility of a fire in the pine plantations on Rabbit Island is causing the Waimea County Council some anxiety Visitors to the island are requested to take every care with fires, as an outbreak at the present time, after the long spell of dry weather, could cause the loss of a valuable county asset At next Friday’s meeting the Council may consider the advisability of prohibiting any visitors to the island until a change in the wea ther removes the present great risx of fires.
