BRITISH COMMENT ON STATEMENT (Rec. 10.15 a.m.) Rugby, Jan. 11. . Discussing Soviet-Polish relations, authoritative British circles take the view that while parts of the Russian statement are of a controversial nature as might also be said of the Polish declaration to which it refers, it does represent, in substance, a most important contribution for consideration and, it is to be hoped, an ultimate settlement of the difficult problems to which it relates. The Polish Cabinet met this morning and afternoon to discuss the Soviet statement, but no announcement is likely to-day.
