CREDITABLE WORK OF H.M.S. BITER (Rec. 9.42 a.m.) Rugby, Jan. 10. In eight months of Atlantic convoy work not a single merchantman under the protection of the escort carrier H.M.S. Biter has been sunk. Since April, 1943, she has steamed over 45,000 miles in the Atlantic, her aircraft patrolling convoys, ready to pounce on U-boats. To her credit she has two U-boats sunk by combined attack of her aircraft and surface escorts and three probably damaged by aircraft.
