“APPRENTICESHIP” TO THRONE
A new slant on the duties of Princess Elizabeth, heir presumptive to the British Throne, came to-day from Campbell Stephen, Independent Labour, in Parliament during a debate on the second reading of the Regency Bill, giving her special rights on attaining her eighteenth birthday next April. "This is the beginning of her apprenticeship." said Mr Stephen. "I do not think 18 is the wrong age in regard to her apprenticeship to a trade which is going to occupy her in the future, and consequently feel there is no objection I should take to the measure.” (London bureau of “New York Times.”)
