BLESSINGS OF THE NEW ORDER
It is reported from occupied Holland that the total number of new students registered for Netherlands Universities for the session 1943-44, amounts to only 378, for all the establishments for higher education. This means that the number of freshmen in occupied Holland has sunk to less than one-tenth of the pre-war figure, as in 1940, just before the invasion, the number of new students amounted to 3,973.
