FOOD SITUATION IN INDIA
MR AMEUY RECEIVES DEPUTATION (Rec. 10.15 a.m.) London, Jan. 7. The Secretary of State for India,, Mr L. S. Amery to-day received a deputation of the National Executive Committee of the Labour Party and had a full discussion with them on the food situation in India, particularly the situation in Bengal. The discussion covered the recent famine in Bengal, the present situation and the policy of the Government of India for dealing with the food situation in India during the coming year, on which Mr Amery gave the deputation the latest information received from the Governments in India and Bengal.
