“YOU HAVE DONE IT INSTEAD”
GRATEFUL SOLDIER IN PACIFIC This is how a soldier in the Pacific acknowledged the receipt of a Nelson Patriotic Council parcel in a note to the member of the Nelson Competitions Society who had donated it: “I really enjoyed digging into the contents of your parcel to see what I had. This is my first parcel since I have been here. My mother died not so long ago and I think often of the parcels she would have sent me but you have done it instead. Thanks a million.”
