Word has been received by cable that L/Cpl Charles Roeske is fit and well in Italy. Mr and Mrs C. A. Newport. Braeburn, have been advised by cable that their sons, Basil and Alwyn Newport, who are serving with the Forces in Italy, are fit and well. Advice has been received by Mr and Mrs R. V. Ford. St. Vincent street, that their son Pte. S R. Ford, has recently been transferred from Italy to a pris-oner-of-war camp in Germany. The Rev. K. G. Aubrey, Th.L. Dip. Com., who with his mother is staying at the Vicarage, Picton. with the Rev. and Mrs E. C. Champion, will return to Australia (states the “Express”). Mr Aubrey has been appointed Vicar of the parish of Omeo in the diocese of Gippsland. Victoria. He was lent to the diocese of Nelson by the Australian Church, and has been a great help in filling temporary vacancies at Greymouth. Motueka. the Amuri and Picton, where his ministry was very much appreciated. Regret is felt that the time of his return to Australia has arrived. Advice has been received by Mrs R. Barker, 0 f Wellington street, that her husband. Sergeant Ron Barker, is sale and well in Italy.
