BLACK MARKET ALLEGED
SYDNEY SPIRIT TRADER Sydney. Dec. 24. Hundreds of cases of spirit, supplied in the belief that they were for export to Allied forces in New Guinea or for other purposes outside the rationing scheme, had been sold on the black market" it was .alleged in the Federal Special Court. Sydney Dudley Turnbull was charged under National Security Regulations with having made a false answer to questions bv an authorised Government officer on or about 19th November He pleaded not guilty, and asked for a remand to take legal adviee.. 5 ... Mr Atkinson. S.M., remanded Turnbull to 30th December, and fixed bail at £SOO personal bond and one surety of £SOO or two of £250 He ordered Turnbull to report at 9 a.m each day to the Criminal Investigation Bureau, and not to leave the metropolitan police district.
