MINIATURE RIFLES

MOTUEKA CLUB TROPHIES PRESENTED To mark the close of the 1942 season at the Motueka Miniature Club’s range, a social function was held in the club’s room, and trophies won during the year were presented. Mr P. B. Calder, the club president, said he had hoped to make the prizes standard trophies in the way of silver spoons but under existing conditions this had been found impossible. Mr B. V. Warren, who presented the trophies, expressed pleasure at seeing such a large number of young members present. No community was, he said, complete without a rifle club, as it afforded members recreation and provided the means of teaching them the use of firearms. He congratulated the club on its large membership, and the winners of trophies on their success. The prize list was as follows: Opening shoot: A grade, C. D. Grieve; B grade, A. E. Fry.
