PROJECTED HOME SERVICE ASSOCIATION
Wellington, This Day. Forty delegates representing 36 centres aw; expected to attend the conference to be held in Wellington on Saturday to form a New Zealand association of men who have seen service in the forces within the Dominion. The four main centres and other places as far apart at Whangarei and Invercargill, will be represented. The movement has been sponsored by the Returned Services’ Association, and the conference will be opened with addresses by Mr B. J. Jacobs. Dominion president of the R.S.A , Mr C. O. Bell, Dominion vice-president, and Messrs C. W. Batten and G. A. Haj-den, members of the Dominion executive. Besides forming an association to act as friend and adviser to those who. though unable to serve with an overseas unit have served in New Zealand, the conference will have before it a large number of remits covering such subjects as pensions, rehabilitation and housing, and it may decide on the design of a badge.—P.A.
