HANOVER’S TURN
R.A.F. RAID IN STRENGTH BRUNSWICK AND EMDEN TOO 38 BOMBERS MISSING (Rec. 9.30 a.m.) . London, Sept. 23. “Bomber Command planes were over Germany in very great strength last night,” says an Air Ministry communique. “The main force attacked Hanover. Large fires were started. Brunswick and Emden were also bombed. Fighter Command planes destroyed seven enemy planes over Holland and north-west Germany. Thirty-eight bombers and one fighter are missing.”
