SATURDAY’S PARADE
1.141 PERSONNEL TAKE PART Approximately 1,144 personnel, 37 officers and 1,107 n.c.o.’s and other ranks, took part in Saturday's combined services’ parade. The numbers of personnel in each unit were as follows: — R.N.Z.A.F., 4 officers and 505 other ranks; Ist Cadet Battalion, N.M. and W.C. Regiment (College Cadets), 8 officers and 301 other ranks; Home Guard 17 officers and 160 other ranks; Mechanised Units, 45 other ranks; W.A.A.F., 1 officer and .26 other ranks; A.T.C., 1 officer and 30 other ranks; Army Staff, 5 officers; Band of Ist Battalion N.M. and W.C. Regiment. 1 officer and 28 other ranks; Pipe Band. 12 members.
The Airspeed Oxford bombing aircraft which stood at the foot of the Church Steps throughout Air Force Week has been removed. Many people discovered this fact to their disappointtherit yesterday when they arrived to take d last look at the plane. On Saturday afternoon. Air Force personnel arrived with a truck, the main planes were removed, and the aircraft was towed through the city streets back to the aerodrome. The tanks, scout cars, Dingos, field and A.A. guns, etc., which were on display in the city during the week, and which took part in Saturday's parade, returned to their various units yesterday.
