Mr and Mrs J. W. Murray, Motupipi road. Takaka, have received word from the Middle East that their son, Pte. Roy Murray, is safe and well. Mrs L. Lammas. Korere, has received word from her husband, Pte L. M. Lammas, Middle East, that he is improving, but is still in hospital with slight injury to his knee. At the last meeting of the Cawthron Institute Trust Board congratulations were extended to Messrs J. Corder and A. Gould on their re-election as chairmen of the Waimea County Council and Nelson Harbour Board respectively. The chairman, Mr H Atmore, in proposing the motion, expressed pleasure at the re-appointment of these two members who had rendered valuable services to the Cawthron Institute Trust Board over a long period. News has been received that Squadron Leader L. H. Trent, D.F.C., of Nelson, previously reported missing on air operations, is now a prisoner of war.
