PETROL FOR JULY
NEW COUPON AT HALF FACE VALUE Dunedin, June 30. The Minister of Supply and Munitions, Mr Sullivan, announced to-night that it has been decided by the War Cabinet that the petrol ration for private motorists during July would be the same as in recent months. Accordingly coupon number 1 of the- new series will be available at half its face value for July.—P.A, BELATED ADVICE IN NELSON When petrol resellers opened for business in Nelson this morning no advice had been received as to the face value of coupons. In response to a telephone enquiry by the Oil Fuel Controller rt was stated in Wellington later in the morning that coupons are worth only half their face value this month. A complaint that it was a fairly frequent occurrence for service stations in Nelson to commence the month with no information as to the value of petrol coupons, was made by a garage proprietor to-day. In the absence of other advice dealers this morning decided to honour coupons to the full extent of the face value. The Oil Fuel Controller in Nelson notified the department in Wellington what was happening and was informed that the coupons were to be only half value. Members of the motor trade and petrol resellers expressed indignation at the belated advice received locally.
