CANADA'S ANNIVERSARY
SEVENTY-SIX YEARS A DOMINION To-day is dominion Day in Canada. She is the oldest of the Dominions, for it was there that the great experiment of Dominion status within the framework of Empire was first tried on the lines set out in the famous Durham report, of which the man who later founded New Zealand. Edward Gibbon Wakefield, was one of its authors. It was 76 years ago to-day, on Ist July, 1867. that Canada entered on her career is a Dominion.
