LATE MR HORATIO EVERETT
' DISTRICT HIGHWAYS' COUNCIL’S 1 MOTION Reference to the passing of Mr Ho--1 ratio Everett was made at to-day’s g meeting of the No. 11 District Highways .j Council, and a motion recording appre- £ ciation of his services on local bodies and sympathy with the relatives was _ passed. The chairman (Mr F. W. Lindup) said 3 that Mr Everett had not been a mem--3 ber of the Highways Council, but all 2 realised the valuable service he had - rendered to the local bodies with which - he had been associated in the Nelson 3 district.. Mr J. Corder (Waimea County Counf cil) said that Mr Everett had been a 1 member of the Waimea Council for 30 - years, and had served the community - well in other capacities. He was always a valued colleague, a good del bater, and one who always acted in the ; best interests of the ratepayei's. 1 Mr R. W. Sparrow (Takaka County) 1 said that when the District Highways ’ Council was formed Mr Everett’s ideas ; had proved valuable. He was a man ' whose opinions were respected and whose judgment was sound. i \ ;
