AUSTRALIAN FOOD CONTROL AUTHORITY
POWERS SET OUT Canberra, June 29. Australia's new food control authority •mil control “every commodity used for food or drink by man, other than drugs or water.” This is set out in new Commonwealth regulations. The authority is empowered to direct that any food be grown, to determine its quantity and to regulate the distribution of loodstuffs. fertilisers and fodder. It may prohibit the growing or consumption of any food or fodder, as well as ihe production and use of fertilisers. It has the power of requisition of those commodities.—P.A.
