NO SHORTAGE OF CEMENT
DIFFICULTIES OF TRANSPORT MEETING OF COMPANY SHAREHOLDERS Auckland. This Day,. "At times there may have appeared to be a shortage of cement, but actuallifc there has been no shortage,” said Mr George Winstone, chairman of direc-% tors of Wilson’s Cement Company, ad»* dressing shareholders at the annual meeting to-day. At all times the company had maintained ample stocks at the works, but there had been transport difficulties, which would occur again. Sometimes deliveries to less essential construction had to be held up on account of transport. Mr Winstone said the demand lor cement had begun to drop following the completion of many national works launched last year. Coal supplies lor the company's works had been a source of worry, but manufacture had not been interrupted.—P.A.
