PURIFYING SEAWATER
SIMPLE DEVICE DESIGNED Toronto, June 27. A local war factory, collaborating with a rf&val research unit, has designed a device for the extraction of salt from seawater by freezing it The machine is at present too heavy to be carried in other than regulation lifeboats. It will withstand any weather, while not affected by immersion in seawater. The machine is hand operated and so simple hat a child could use it.—P.A.
