WEST TAKAKA ROAD
ITo the Editor! Sir. —Kindly allow me space in answer to “Disintegrate’s” protest regarding the bumpy state of the West Takaka State Highway section. Now, Sir, I have been surfaceman employed on that portion of road for quite a while I now, and in my opinion the surface was good for a new metalled road. The only conclusion I can come to is that “Disintegrate" dozed off into a quiet snooze while gliding along the nice smooth surface and then suddenly woke up with a start and found himself high and dry on one of the manv bumpy untidy frontages in that area.—l am. etc., J. BICKLEY. Takaka, 25th June.
