PIG MARKETING ASSOCIATION

APPEAL FOR INCREASED PRODUCTION The New Zealand Co-operative Pig Marketing Association in a circular to shareholders announce the completion of another successful year’s trading. The turnover of their combined undertakings reached a new record total of £1,338,680. Altogether some 405,600 head of pigs, bobby calves and cull cattle were handled on owners’ account, for which final payments are in course of preparation. For pigs supplied from Ist November to 31st May on all grades and classes of supply a final payment of fd per lb has been declared. In addition, shareholders whose supply is qualified by shares will, on the full season’s supply, i.e., Ist June, 1942, to 31st May, 1943, receive a cash shareholders’ bonus of id per lb plus a credit on the unpaid balance of share of a similar amount, or id per lb. In view of the acute shortage of pig meats for local and armed forces’ requirements, a strong appeal is made to its shareholders for increased production.
