FRENCH ARMIES
REORGANISATION AGREEMENT DECISION OF LIBERATION COMMITTEE London, June 22. A member of the French National Committee of Liberation, after today’s meeting, when an agreement was reached in connection with the reorganisation of the French armies, said: “We all agree, though of course, nothing can be done without Allied agreement.” The Allies, it is reported, insisted that General Giraud remain in control of the North African Forces. The Committee took almost three hours to reach the decision. Algiers radio stated that M. Bonnet, the new French Commissioner for Information, arrived from America,—P.A. The agreement named General Giraud and General de Gaulle as Commanders-in-Chief temporarily until a technical committee of six persons is able to reorganise the two French forces and make them into one.
