AT FULL CAPACITY TO-DAY
CITY’S ELECTRICITY PLANT EFFECT OF COLD WEATHER Overcast weather to-day had its effect on electricity consumption in Nelson, an l the power station at the pert was working right up to capacity this morning, stated the Electrical Engineer, Mr E. Fleming. He considered it would take the plant all its time to hold the load, even with assistance from the Stoke diesel station. For several days power from Stoke has eased the strain on the city’s power supply, and the brighter and milder weather yesterday resulted in a falling off in the demand for lighting and heating. A change in the weather overnight sent the consumption up to 1120 k.w. It is hoped that the need for electricity will be less within a day or two.
