COLLINGWOOD COUNTY COUNCIL
CHAIRMAN RE-ELECTED NOTICE OF RATE LEVY At the annual ting of the Collingwood County Council Councillor P. G. Fish was re-elected chairman. Others present were Councillors W. P. Ferguson, W. D. Lash and S. H. Marsh. Councillors J. Richards, O. Skilton and A. R. Wigzell were excused from attendance. Accounts totalling £556 10s 7d were passed for payment.. Mr R. King resigned from the position of dayman for the Westhaven Riding on account of health. The resignation was accepted with regret. The Commissioner of Crown Lands forwarded a “Gazette” vesting the control of the Kaihoka Lakes Reserve in the council for another five years. Permission was given to the light-house-keeper to put a shed on the road line at Puponga, subject to the approval of the engineer. Notice was given of intention to levy the following rates: A general rate of 3£d in the pound, a hospital rate of 11-20 d, and special rates totalling 3sd upon special rating areas.
