VISIT TO AIRCRAFT FACTORY
LORD BURGHLEY IMPRESSED Wellington, This Day. During his stay in Wellington, Lord Burghley, controller of the overseas supplies and repairs section of the British Ministry of Production, who arrived in New Zealand in the Lancaster bomber, visited the De Havilland aircraft factory in company with Air Vice-Marshal R. V. Goddard, chief of the air staff, to view the work of the company. Lord Burghley was most interested in the organisaiton of the company and commented favourably on the skill the New Zealand workers, both men and women had shown in adapting themselves to the new industry.— P.A.
